Being a parent is the most important and sometimes hardest job you will ever have. The Wyoming County Family Resource Center can help you through information, programs, and activities for your family.
Your family has unique strengths and needs. When you visit the Wyoming County Family Resource Center, you won't be told what your family needs, you will be asked what you want.
Family Centers are a new way of doing business, helping families help themselves and get the resources they need to be strong.
The Wyoming County Family Resource Center provides parents & educators with a Parent Lending & Learning Library, Educators Lab, Computer Lab, Resource Library, community information, training and support groups.
The Family Resource Center will provide such services as "One stop shopping" for resources for parents and their entire family concerning agencies and services available in Wyoming County.
In addition, the center will provide opportunities for parent and child activities, trainings and workshops, educator resources, and opportunities to meet and support each other. Parent support groups such as Special Needs Parents and parents seeking support in raising children in this challenging age are meeting on a weekly basis.
Collaboration with other agencies is a key component of the Family Resource Center. Such agencies and groups as C.C.I.S., Early Intervention, Communities That Care, Cooperative Extension, Tunkhannock Area School District, Wyoming County United Way and others have been involved.
The Family Resource Center will promote positive child development and early learning experiences by providing materials and information to any Wyoming County parent or Early Childhood Educator, Literacy materials, toys, books, and resources can be borrowed by parents and educators alike.
